I grew up in Christchurch, loving sport. Influenced by a sporting city, and a mum whose British roots gave me the bug for football.

At school I was just as fascinated by what happened off the pitch as on it, and got into photography to capture our rugby games. Not just the action, but what it felt like to be there. I didn’t know it at the time, but that was my first dive into telling grassroots stories for an online audience.

This led to a communications and marketing degree at Massey University as I began to explore how storytelling can blend with commercial thinking. I did freelance work at uni too – time behind the camera and helping small businesses with content creation, paid ads, and social media, which helped fund my studies.

While I was at Uni, Auckland FC announced their inception, and I’ve been blown away by their fan engagement since before day one – heading to a pre-season game on a wet night in July, camera in hand, hoping to get a job.

I quickly became part of The Port supporters group which has given me opportunities to help film a documentary on the club and the All Whites, drawn not just to the game, but to the fans, their passion, and their stories.

The line between passion and profession has always been blurred for me, and I think it will be forever.

I joined Honoco after meeting Ella, Jennie and Richard at the 2024 Marketing Association’s Brand Summit. That event challenged how I thought about marketing and showed me the importance of brand distinctiveness.

In my role here, I love exploring creativity, sport, and community. I want to help clients find their people wherever they are – online, on the pitch, or in the stands – so they can build real, lasting connections with them through content that resonates.
