Growing up in NZ meant that netball was my first sporting love, but it wasn’t long before basketball and football snuck their way into my regular roster of activities. Football in particular opened my eyes to major sporting events and their incredible global impact. I was hooked.

Being a participant and a fan of sport led me to pursue sport as a profession – starting with a double degree from AUT in both Sport Management and Finance.

My analytical brain and love of learning left me wanting more, and I decided to stay at AUT for my master’s degree. My thesis explored how community sports clubs leverage major sport events to create a participation legacy. I really wanted to use research to understand how and why phenomena exist, and how data can provide real-world insights that can impact and improve decision making.

Honoco’s close connection with AUT led me to meeting Richard, and what followed was an exciting opportunity to begin my post-academia career in sport. My specific areas of interest across not only sport, but also charities and the public sector, are gender equity, social change, and events.

I’m detail orientated, which drives me to deliver the most accurate data for clients, sharing information that is reflective of the data alongside impactful insights and strategy that can support clients to create the most positive change.

Sport and activity still play a big part in my life. I love to find new walks to do around Auckland and NZ, and I’m also trying to improve my golf swing… which could possibly be a longer commitment than my undergrad and master’s degrees combined.
