There’s a saying in my home country India, “You become an engineer, and then you figure out your career path”.

I did exactly this.

The first five years of my professional career were spent in the IT sector as a Consultant for Tata Consultancy Services, developing and testing data pipelines. I loved how data-driven decisions could help a business grow rapidly. Understanding business requirements and utilizing my technical skills to provide the best output for clients is something which comes naturally to me, and something I’m now doing for Honoco.

While I was enjoying my fast-paced IT career, I decided to take the biggest risk I’ve taken to date – to pivot my career and move from India to the UK to pursue an MSc in Sports Business Management. Everyone called me crazy, but I have always been independent and driven by my freedom of choice.

I completed the MSc in 2022 and while studying, I worked with Leaders in Sports, Formula E, Stats Perform, and even Honoco in part-time and internship roles. All these opportunities provided me with immense knowledge, and I was able to bridge the gap between academia and the real sports business world.

I am a strong advocate for and love writing about women’s sports and tech. In 2022 I was honored with a U.S. Women in Sports Tech (WiST) Fellowship.

Joining Honoco in 2023 was the result of an incredible web of connected people all passionate about the same things as me – sport, technology, women and equality, data, and sponsorship. My role at Honoco is to use technology and AI to enhance things like speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the data we gather and interpret for clients.

When I’m not working in sport, I’m playing it or being physically active in some way. I love hiking, travelling, playing basketball, and spending quality time with my grandmom. I’m an avid fan of the mighty Himalayan mountain range, and fortunate to have hiked many peaks, always finding an excuse to be in its beauty.
